Albion's highest-capacity destemming line: from clusters to clean, sized raisins at large-plant scale.
The PUA 5000 D is designed for cooperatives, packers and exporters that process large volumes of raisins during the season. It receives the fruit in clusters, straight from the bins, and delivers it loose, destemmed, clean and sized, with a capacity of 3,000 to 3,500 kg/h.
A continuous five-stage process:
- Reception with autonomy: the Bin Tipper with Accumulator has a chain conveyor with three bins waiting and one in the tipper, so the line does not stop between dumps. A Dosing Feeder with Cluster Breaker —an inclined rough-top belt with a metering rake, a regulating damper and a large-capacity hopper— delivers an even flow and starts breaking up the clusters.
- Coarse cleaning: a perforated-drum Trommel separates loose raisins from clusters, stems and coarse material, which leave on a reject belt; its slotted-mesh screen removes fines. Next, a Vacuum Aspirator with automatic waste discharge removes leaves and light particles.
- Two destemming stages in series: the product goes through two Destemmers with Screen, each followed by its own Vacuum Aspirator. They are dry destemmers with hinged cast-aluminum outer jackets, adjustable for different raisin sizes, and grooved rubber liners with staggered paddles that remove the cap stem while protecting the fruit. Each destemmer's vibrating screen separates fines immediately.
- Sizing: the Size Grader, with a stainless-steel tray and two quick-release interchangeable screens (perforations chosen by the customer), sorts the raisins by size; cross conveyors discharge each fraction separately.
- Final cleaning: an Elevator takes the product to a stainless-steel Screen and then to the Mega Vac, which combines air flotation from below with suction from above for highly precise reject separation before packing.
Construction:
Mild-steel structures with an anticorrosive base and polyurethane enamel finish. Polished stainless-steel surfaces on elevators, size grader and final screen. Aspirators and destemmers with frequency inverters, to adjust suction and speed to each product.
Benefits of Albion technology:
- Highest capacity in the range: 3,000 to 3,500 kg/h in a single continuous-flow line.
- Destemming in series: two destemmers with intermediate aspiration achieve a high destemming rate even at large volumes.
- Fewer stops: the bin accumulator and regulated dosing keep the line steadily fed.
- Flexible sizing: interchangeable screens to adapt sizes to each market.
- Pre-assembly and connection in our workshop before shipping: the line arrives ready to install at the plant.
- 12-month warranty on mechanical parts of our own manufacture.
The PUA 5000 D is the choice for those who need to destem and size at large-plant scale, with the same process quality as the rest of the PUA/PUB family.
