From Orchard to Packing: Integrated Hazelnut Processing at 10,000 kg/h

Freshly harvested hazelnuts require multiple successive cleaning stages: separating branches and leaves, removing stones and soil, double washing (rotation + flotation), and visual sorting before packaging. Our AV 10000 Line integrates all these steps in a single 8,000-to-10,000 kg/h system — the highest-capacity line in the Albion catalog.

13 integrated machines, step by step:

  • Receiving Vat: accepts direct field discharge (truck or bins) with buffer capacity for continuous flow.
  • Vat Elevator: doses the hazelnut flow toward the first mechanical-cleaning step.
  • Debrancher: vibrating sieve separating large branches, stalks, and coarse vegetable matter.
  • Aspirator: vacuum aspirator removing leaves, fine dust, and light particles not retained by the sieve.
  • Elevator to Trommel: lifts the pre-cleaned hazelnut to the rotary separator.
  • Trommel: perforated rotary cylinder performing coarse size classification before washing and removing stones and soil clumps.
  • Elevator to Rotary Washer: takes the hazelnut to the first wash cycle.
  • Rotary Washer: first washing stage — drum with water curtain removing adhered soil.
  • Flotation Washer: second stage — tank with controlled flotation where sound hazelnuts float and dense impurities settle.
  • Inspection Conveyor with Platforms: visual control by operators on elevated catwalks with railings and sanitary platform.
  • Reject Collection Conveyor: collects material rejected during inspection and routes it to the waste circuit.
  • Waste Elevator: lifts the rejected material for dispatch outside the line.
  • Cyclonic Separator: final cleaning stage by cyclonic separation before output.

Construction and sanitary philosophy:

Frames and structures in SAE 1010 mild steel with anticorrosive primer and polyurethane enamel finish. All product-contact surfaces in AISI 304 stainless steel with sanitary polish. Drives with oil-bath gearmotors and fully shielded three-phase motors.

Albion technology benefits:

  • High capacity (8,000–10,000 kg/h): designed for cooperatives and high-volume packers.
  • Multi-redundant cleaning: debrancher + aspirator + trommel + two washers (rotary and flotation) + cyclonic separator.
  • AISI 304 stainless steel on all product-contact surfaces, resistant to daily sanitary washing.
  • Scalable base: architecture can be reduced for smaller volumes under custom-design projects.
  • Pre-assembled and concatenated in our workshop before dispatch — the line arrives ready to install on-site.
  • 12-month warranty on mechanical parts of our manufacture.
